Did you know that Reading is home to the ‘UK ‘s Sexiest Townhouse Hotel? Well, I went to check out The Roseate Reading to see if this title was indeed true!
This historical, 5 -star townhouse hotel has 55 rooms and unique suites and was formally part of Reading Abbey. The hotel boasts a chandelier made from 86,000 Italian-glass beads running the entire length of the staircase plus a piano right in the lobby, so I knew I was in for a big treat as I walked to my lodgings for the weekend.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Roseate Suite which was bigger than my London flat! I was blown away as I opened the door and stepped into the room. The four-poster bed was a major focal point (plus I had never slept in one before!) mixed with the high ceilings and the amount of space in this grand suite, it was truly mesmerizing!

The suite itself features a lounge area with a vibrant chaise longue, dining table, a desk, fireplace (I bet this is fab in the wintertime!) as well as a free-standing bathtub and waterfall shower with integrated steam room and all the essential mod-cons available such as coffee machine, free WIFI and a smart tv.
After basking in ‘Suite’ opulence for a few hours, it was time to go explore the rest of the hotel and check out the dining facilities.

We dined at The Reading Room which is located on the lower ground floor area, it is slightly more modern but still stylish and I especially loved the little outdoors area with a waterfall wall and feature tree in the middle.
The restaurant uses locally sourced, seasonal produce and our senses were awakened with some incredibly flavoursome dishes like Tandoori Curried Monkfish and Aged Sirloin Beef. I mean, even the amuse bouche was delicious making it the perfect intro to our meal. The Reading Room also plays host for the Hotel’s wonderful Afternoon Tea experience which is accompanied by a live pianist on a Sunday.

As well as their Berkshire based Hotel, The Roseate collection features equally luxurious hotels in Bath, Edinburgh and London. This Reading townhouse hotel is in a prime location for shopping and exploring the area or if this isn’t your forte, you can book into the hotels Spa for a relaxing treatment or two. Check them out.
