A quick and simple Char Siu Pork with black rice, tender stem broccoli and carrot with a sesame oil drizzle.
Serves x 2
Ingredients:
For the Char Siu
1 Teaspoon of Red Food Colouring
1 Teaspoon of Dried Ginger
1 Teaspoon of Chinese Five Spice
1 Tablespoon of Hoi Sin Sauce
1 Teaspoon of Light Soy Sauce
1 Teaspoon of Dried Garlic Powder
300g Lean Minced Pork
1 1/2 Cups of Black Rice
3 Cups of Water
100g Tender Stem Broccoli (trimmed)
4 Carrots (peeled and cut into strips)
1 Bread Tin

Method:
Start by placing the pork mince into a large bowl, add and mix all the Char Siu ingredients together with the minced pork.
Preheat the oven to 180deg. Bring a pan of water to the boil for the rice and a smaller sauce pan for the vegetables.
Grease the bread tin with a little butter inside and around the edges and place the pork inside and pat down until smooth. Put a heavy pan on top and cook in the oven for 20 minutes.
Cook the black rice for the same amount of time and with 5 mins remaining, remove the weight from the bread tin.
Cook the vegetables for a few minutes and strain. Check the rice once cooked strain also (white rice is also good if you prefer). Take pork out of the oven and place onto a chopping board.

Arrange the rice in the middle of the plate slice the pork accordingly. Place vegetables on top of the pork and drizzle a little sesame oil.
Enjoy!
