The Walk In Wardrobe of Our Dreams

We recently updated you on our upstairs home improvement project with Regal Interiors. But what we showcased was only half of the project.

It had always been our dream to have a walk in wardrobe. A room where on entering, you can see all of your clothes, handbags and shoes at a glance, enabling you to go straight to exactly what you want to wear with no rummaging around blindly.

We wanted space and order and that is exactly what we got!

A spare bedroom had become a dumping ground for everything without a home and fighting through the clutter to get to a certain jumper in a drawer at the back of the room was a nightmare. There were clothes hung on doors and jumpers in boxes, all through a lack of wardrobe space.

We knew what we wanted, and we knew who we wanted for the job. Five years previously, Regal Interiors completely re-modelled our downstairs living area into our dream, open plan living space. Now they had transformed our master bedroom and en-suite into the beautiful, peaceful haven we always wanted.

The next stage was to create our walk-in wardrobe and dressing room.

This was not a large room, so careful planning was needed and so was a huge clear out! We had to be ruthless – we were, and the local charity shops wondered what had hit them!

We sat down with Adrian, owner of family-owned business Regal Interiors and we planned out what was possible. It was decided that my husband and I would have one side of the room each. Plans agreed, work started.

Compared to the other work we had done; this was a very quick project. By now the room was an empty shell, the clutter had gone and so had the bedroom furniture. They were able to walk straight in and remove the old carpet and cornice and start sinking spotlights into the ceiling and constructing the units to house our clothes.

In no time at all the room was ready to decorate and having decorated our new bedroom ourselves due to what seemed like a national shortage of professional decorators(!), taking on this much smaller room was a breeze!

Next the carpet was fitted and the great thing about Regal Interiors is that they take care of the whole project, we didn’t need to go elsewhere for tiling, flooring, carpets or electrics, their in-house team of experts take care of every aspect.

The day soon arrived when we could hang our clothes, fill the shelves with handbags and shoes and dress the room.

We have now lived with our walk in wardrobe/dressing room for six months and it has made life so easy! It’s a beautiful room that is always tidy and organised – our clothes are all easily accessible and even colour co-ordinated!

How did we live without this room?

Once again, we say a huge ‘Thank You’ to Regal Interiors for seeing through the chaos and bringing our vision to life.
