The Barnsley Rockley Rotary Club and the Fashion Week’s Creative Director Victoria, 39, originally from Darfield who now lives in Wakefield, is organising the show to support local talent, to give fashion designers and boutiques in Barnsley a boost, to help Barnsley College students real life industry experiences, as well as raising money for charity.

Victoria who runs Sociability Group said: “My Dad and his wife are part of Barnsley Rockley Rotary Club and I run Sociability Group. Along with our sponsors Clobber Swap and Burrows Motor Company, we wanted to raise money for BIADS (Barnsley Dementia Support) and Marie Curie.”

Clobber Swap was set up by Yorkshire Entrepreneur Camille Johnson. Her Facebook group has gone from 30 friends swapping to now nearly 7000 members in two years. “At the turn of 2020, I felt like I’d lost a bit of sparkle. I decided to take charge and give my work wardrobe a shake up and de-clutter, arranging two piles: one for me and one for my three sisters. I couldn’t believe how many unworn, quality items I had in my wardrobe and thought ‘why do I have so many clothes?’” Now women all over the region are swapping their garments as well as making sustainable friendships and shwopping circles.

They’ll be models from the Clobber Swap Facebook group on the night showcasing preloved womenswear alongside designs from a range of independent designers and students from Barnsley College.

Barnsley Fashion Week’s headline catwalk show takes place at Metrodome Arena on Friday 27 October.

Designers and Brands featured include Frank Bird, River Island, Angel Couture, Katie Newsam and New Look.
