Great Summer Menu At The Millfield Beefeater, York

We sent our girl Rachel McAlley for lunch recently at The Millfield, Nether Poppleton York, a Beefeater Steak Restaurant. It’s easy to find, has a quiet location, and offers excellent parking, have you been yet?

Just a short car journey out of the city of York is York Business Park, where The Millfield Beefeater is situated. An unassuming restaurant with some fabulous offers, great food, tasty cocktails, and lovely staff.

Beefeater’s new signature summer dishes include scorching starters of freshly baked pizzette flatbreads including Garlic, Cheddar Cheese & Mozzarella and Harissa Red Pepper & Feta; plus Loaded Wings, served in Korean-Inspired; and Mango, Peach & Habanero varieties.

Equally, new mains of hot Honey Siracha Pork Ribs; Salsa Verde Seabass; Chimichurri Steak Salad; and Chargrilled Chicken or Halloumi Skewers served on a pizzette with skin-on-chips, Greek salad, harissa red pepper sauce and tzatziki. Ensuring a sweet summer for all, new desserts include Mango & Passionfruit Sundae; Millionaires Triple-Choc Brownie Sundae; and a Lemon & Raspberry Semi-Freddo.

What We Ate at The Millfield

Alongside Beefeater’s new summer menu of grill classics, guests can select one of many great-value offers, including the 8 mains for £8 lunch menu. Plus, Kids Eat Free at breakfast with every adult breakfast purchased. Those thirsty for a deal on drinks can enjoy 2 for £12 cocktails daily from 5pm – 9pm; and plenty more offers.

I visited The Millfield with a guest on Saturday lunchtime and opted for some dishes from the new summertime menu. We chose the ’74 BBQ Seasoned Potato Wedges (£5.79), and a Garlic, Cheddar Cheese & Mozzarella Pizzette (£5.99) to start. The wedges were served with a choice of Beefeater’s homemade ’74 sauce, and we chose ’74 BBQ Sauce, which worked perfectly with the seasoned chunky potato wedges. However, the standout starter has to be the pizzette, a freshly baked mini crusty pizza-style flatbread topped with the cheese and garlic. It was both tasty and moreish!

Main courses we ordered, were a Chargrilled Chicken Skewer (£15.79), served with Greek Salad, Harissa Red Pepper Sauce, Tzatziki, Pizzette, and Skin-on Chips. Additionally, we also ordered the ’74 Baconeater Burger (£16.79), which included 4oz Beef Burger, Bacon Relish, Oak-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar, Crispy Onions, and Mayo. The burger, served on a Brioche Bun, with Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, plus Slaw, and Chips on the side.

Both mains were very big, tasty, and great value for money. The Chargrilled Chicken Skewer just pipped the post to win best meal. However, the burger was so big it was boxed up and taken home to finish later!

We were so full that we couldn’t order a dessert. Another table ordered desserts and the Mango & Passionfruit Sundae looked delicious.

Much More At Beefeater

The conservatory is where all guests dined, which is a comfortable, bright, and airy space. From the conservatory you can see guests that are in the garden and outdoor dining area. With plenty of tables outside plus a few private outdoor booths, where people can enjoy cocktails and lunch, it is a great spot.

Diners can purchase the Beefeater Homemade Sauces (£2.99 each), and we chose the Hot Sauce and the BBQ Sauce to take home.

The Millfield is situated in a quiet location, outside the city, away from the hustle and bustle of York. There are plenty of free parking spaces, however you will need to enter your registration number when you arrive at the restaurant to avoid charges.

The Millfield is next door to the Premier Inn York North West Hotel, so it is a perfect location to base yourself for a weekend in York. Not only does it include the parking and free WiFi, but the breakfast is second-to-none at The Millfield, and it is only minutes away from the city attractions. York has so much to offer visitors from the historic Minster and world-famous Shambles, to the Dungeons, Viking Centre, and York’s Chocolate Story.

So, why not book a table at The Millfield and enjoy some time dining with friends and family before you embark on a weekend in the city.

Visit Beefeater for more information, to book a table, and check out the menus.
