Linthwaite House Hotel has launched its signature afternoon tea menu – Head chef Gerald van der Walt has created an intricate selection of cakes, sandwiches, and pastries, which are now being served in the Bar & Conservatory at the Lake District hotel.
The Bar & Conservatory at Linthwaite House is celebrated for its panoramic views of Windermere and its tranquil terrace, making it the ideal setting to relax and enjoy a refined afternoon tea while taking in the breathtaking Lakeland scenery.
As with all of Gerald’s cleverly crafted menus, the ingredients featured in each of the savoury and sweet afternoon tea options will change seasonally, showcasing the very best of what’s available, intriguing guests time and time again.
Seasonal sandwiches and savoury treats are followed by an array of cakes and scones.
Menu highlights include:
Smoked Salmon, Cucumber & Cream Cheese, Egg & Cress Salad, Pastrami, Wholegrain Mustard Mayo & Frisee Endive and Thornby Moor Dairy Goat’s Cheese & Onion Chutney sandwiches.
Smoked Mackerel Tartlet, Sun Blushed Tomato Cheesecake and Mushroom Choux Bun savoury treats.
Tempting cake creations ‘Tirami-Choux’ Bun, Yoghurt, Lemon & Strawberry Gateaux, and Blueberry Frangipane Tart.
Rounded off with pastries including Plain & Fruit Scones, served with clotted cream, butter and homemade strawberry jam.
Guests will also be able to choose from a selection of teas or infusions sourced from Dorothy’s Tea’s Grange over Sands or a variety of carefully sourced single-origin and blended coffees from small growers across the world.
For those wishing to enjoy something a little stronger, a range of cocktails, champagnes and sparkling wines will also be available to enjoy.
Afternoon tea must be ordered 24 hours in advance and is served in the Bar & Conservatory, served Monday to Sunday between 12pm and 4pm each day.

Traditional afternoon tea is £39 per person.
Prosecco Afternoon Tea is £48.00 per person
Champagne Afternoon Tea is £58.00 per person
